what is FMD

what is FMD ?

it stands for " Foot and Mouth Disease "

it is a contagious disease affect all ruminants " cow, buffaloe, sheep,goat..."

and characterized by high fever lasts for 10-15 days and ulcers and vesicles in muzzle , nostril and tongue and legs of animals 

signs :

high fever 40 - 42 

off food 

smacking movement of the lips 

salivation " due to ulceration of the tongue "

lamness " due to vesicles and ulcers in the inter dermal space and foot 

cough 

ulceration of the tongue 

treatment :

anti pyretic " analgin , flunixin , danalgin c, pyrogesic ....."

antibiotic " pen strept, norodine , coliprime , pencillins , ....."

vitamins " antoplex , ad3e .....

gentain msss to the ulcers " oxy g spray , alamycin spray ......."

easily digested food to the animals " green foderrs < plants......"

notes :

in rare casese it affect heart muscles " Tiger heart " characterized by heart rate is irregular 

and usually ends by death " hopeless case "
